KACTUS
KACTUS is a mineral solution that reduces the effects of heat stress in cows by compensating for electrolyte losses. KACTUS also reduces the risk of milk fat depression (MFD) syndrome by preventing the formation of trans fatty acids in the rumen.
- Reduces oxidative stress
- Increased Dietary Anion Cation Balance (DCAB) of the rations through additional Sodium (Na) and Potassium (K) intake.
- Maintains ingestion
- Maintains milk production and fat levels.

Acts on the ration’s positive DCAB
During periods of intense heat, potassium (K) and sodium (Na) losses are increased due to excessive sweating, increased urinary excretion and increased salivation (hypersalivation). Heat stress also increases the risk of ruminal and metabolic acidosis.
Increase the DCAB with an intake of Bicarbonate and Carbonate
Kactus has been specially formulated to ensure a continuous supply of minerals in the feed and to compensate for potassium and sodium losses, it increases the ration’s DCAB by providing carbonates and bicarbonates. These intakes increase the buffering capacity of the blood and buffers the rumen H, they also prevent the onset of ruminal and metabolic acidosis. As a result, ingestion and milk production are supported and levels are maintained.
Artichoke extracts to fight against oxidative stress
Kactus contains artichoke extracts which have several benefits
- Stimulate liver functions
- Increases biliary secretions
- Regulates digestion
Composition
Kactus® is rich in Potassium Carbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Magnesium Oxide and artichoke extracts.
Recommendation for use
Kactus® is used from May to September. Distribution in the ration to be adapted depending on the geographical areas (temperate or hot and humid)
